What's the difference between a copy edit and a developmental edit?A copy edit, also can be known as a line edit, is where an editor will go through your manuscript and look at the fine details. They'll check for spelling and grammar mistakes, areas to improve flow in sentences, and generally look to improve the quality of the writing. A developmental edit is 'big picture'. A developmental editor will read the manuscript and highlight areas that need improvement in the story such as the plot, subplots, overall quality of writing, character consistency etc.

Will hiring you make it easier to get published? While I can't say that it will, if you're looking at getting published via an agent or publishing house, I would advise that you get your manuscript edited beforehand. This isn't a requirement (depending on the submission guidelines, always check those), but it will help your chances of being picked if your manuscript doesn't require as much work as others.

Who can use your services?Anyone. If you're looking for a developmental edit, we can work together! I would say that I specialise in the genres of fantasy, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance so if you write outside of those genres, it might be best to look for an editor who specialises in your genre.

Why should I hire you?I would love to work with you to perfect your manuscript. You should hire me because: - I have over 5 years of experience in the publishing industry - I have edited over 15 currently published books - I have a degree in Creative Writing where I was trained to edit books - I'll work with you and within your budget (if I can, but I'll be upfront about any costs)
