Hi there. I'm Loredana (pronounced Laura-Dana) but most people just call me Laura. I'm a developmental editor which means I focus on the 'big picture' in manuscripts, looking out for plot and character inconsistencies, pacing issues, and story quality etc.
My Story
Books and writing are my main passions in life. I founded my own publishing company, SmashBear Publishing, in 2020 and have since worked on and overseen the publication of over 10 books. Unfortunately we can only take on a limited amount of projects at SmashBear, so due to popular demand, I am now also available as a freelance editor.
My main area of expertise is developmental editing but I do also work as a copy editor, book marketer, and occasionally, a book cover designer. I studied Creative Writing at the University of Winchester, where I learned about the fundamentals of writing, the components of a good story, and how to edit and workshop prose.
